Unique pH Multi-Purpose Solution

About Unique pH Multi-Purpose Solution Multi-purpose solution for RGP lenses Compatible with Hydra-PEG lens coating Available in 4oz (120mL) or 2.5oz (75mL) size Includes a free lens case Description (by Rebecca) We originally added Unique pH to The Dry Eye Shop's scleral lens care products specifically because of its compatibility with the new Hydra-PEG coating. For optimal performance of scleral lenses it's generally accepted that digital (i.e. rub) cleaning on a daily basis is necessary, not just overnight disinfection. However, Lobob ESC, the gold standard "rub" cleaner for scleral lenses, is not compatible with Hydra-PEG (a relatively new lens coating that improves lens wettability). Unique pH is a multi-purpose solution that is approved by the Hydra-PEG makers for their coating, and it can be used for both rub cleaning and overnight soaking. At this point it's quite popular for daily disinfection of sclerals. I will always stick with hydrogen peroxide (Clear Care) as the best way to disinfect overnight. But I find Unique pH very handy for travel - traveling with peroxide is just not practical. So I tend to use it often when I'm on the road. It's a very good product. SAFETY NOTE: As with ALL multi-purpose solutions, DO NOT put this solution in the 'bowl' of your scleral lens. It is strictly for cleaning and disinfection, not filling.
