Kennedy. Both autographs appear in bold blue ballpoint ink on a pale blue slip of paper. Historical Context: Jack Ruby (1911–1967) etched his name into American history on November 24, 1963, when he shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald on live national television just two days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Ruby, a Dallas nightclub owner with alleged ties to organized crime, claimed he acted to spare Jacqueline Kennedy the ordeal of a public trial. He was quickly arrested and convicted of murder, though the verdict was later overturned. Ruby died of cancer in 1967 while awaiting a retrial. His signature remains a haunting artifact from one of the most turbulent and scrutinized periods in modern American history. Dual-signed items from Ruby are extremely rare and offer chilling proximity to one of the darkest chapters in the American presidency.
