Unicel 5CH-45 | 45 sq ft Freeflow Spa Filter

The Unicel 5CH-45 delivers 45 square feet of filtration across 225 pleats of Reemay® 2033 polyester media. Built to meet or exceed OEM specifications, it's the replacement cartridge for Freeflow® Spas Legend models and other systems using this fitment. Filtration is the quiet backbone of clean spa water. Every soak leaves behind body oils, lotions, hair, and fine debris, and the cartridge is what removes all of it before it clouds the water, feeds bacteria, or coats your plumbing. When a filter is worn or clogged, the effects spread everywhere: dull water, higher chemical use, softer jets, and a pump and heater straining against restricted flow. The standout here is pleat density. At 225 pleats in a slim cartridge just 5-5/16 inches across, the 5CH-45 packs a remarkable amount of filtering surface into a compact footprint — more surface means more places to trap debris and more time between cleanings. Its open 2-1/8 inch top and 1-1/2 inch male pipe thread bottom screw securely into the housing for a tight, leak-free seal, and Unicel's chemical-resistant end caps and solid core keep the cartridge true through repeated cleanings. Made in the USA. Pro Tip: Don't confuse this with the 6CH-940 — the specs look identical on paper. Both cartridges are 45 sq ft with 225 pleats, but they are not interchangeable. The 5CH-45 is 5-5/16 in across and 10 in tall with an open top and a 1-1/2 in MPT thread. The 6CH-940 is 6 in across and 8-1/4 in tall with a handle on top and a 1-1/2 in SAE thread — a different thread standard entirely. Read the number on your current cartridge before ordering.
