Unfold by Liesl Lamprecht

A 6-week devotional for those who want to examine their hearts in the light and truth of God’s Word. Download the free Week One Preview “Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love; hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, opening to the sun above.”  Inspired by these much-loved lyrics of “The Hymn of Joy,” this 6-week study is for anyone who desires to unfold their heart like a flower before God, opening to the true light of this world. Unfold invites God’s sharp and discerning Word to search the thoughts and intentions of your heart. We tend to love Scripture that is comforting and inspiring, but we are cautious to linger on the parts of the Bible that convict us of our shortcomings. Yet weighing our hearts against the Word of God shouldn’t fill us with dread—it gives us cause to delight! There is a grace-shaped solution for our sin: the Lord Jesus Christ.  Join Liesl Lamprecht as she invites you on an introspective journey through the Scriptures where you will learn how to keep your heart pure, loving, and soft toward the Lord. Traversing an array of topics such as ongoing repentance and regeneration, faith versus works, hidden sin and holiness, heartbreak and suffering, the hope of eternity, and everything in between, Unfold: Discerning the Thoughts and Intentions of the Heart will encourage and challenge you to walk joyfully in the light of Christ. Each day’s entry is designed to pull you into a rhythm of reading, reflecting, repenting, and rejoicing, which will allow you to unpack Scripture, ponder guided questions, write down your prayers, and engage in a time of thanksgiving and worship. Our prayer for you is that this tool will restore your joy in your salvation (Psalm 51:12) and give you a renewed desire to store up the Word of God in your heart.
