Understanding Narcissism

Whether it's about a friend, a manager at work, a loved one, a politician—or for those of us graced with remarkable self-honesty, ourselves—we've all had the experience of wondering, “Is that person a narcissist?” To answer this question, we first need to understand narcissism fully: its roots, its different forms and expressions, how it impacts us, and (most importantly) if and how it can be healed. We believe that furthering the understanding of narcissism is one of the greatest psychological imperatives of our time … and a necessary step if we are to heal the divisiveness of our time.  So what is narcissism, really? Does it exist on a spectrum? Is it a disease? Is there a cure? What do you do when you think there's a narcissist in your life? What is the relationship of narcissism to the spiritual journey? And how do you know if you're a narcissist yourself? To answer these questions, we sought out a wide range of top teachers help shed light on topic— and to clarify the steps we can take to bring more compassion, skill, and wisdom to the conversation. In this program, you’ll get life-changing insight and guidance from 20 of today's leading researchers, psychologists, mental health experts, and spiritual teachers, including Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Dr. Judith Orloff, Dr. Bandy X. Lee, Terry Real, and Caroline Myss to learn about narcissism from as many different angles as possible. We'll share practices, self-assessment tools, communication skills, and a wealth of empowering insights into this important and often misunderstood subject. We hope you'll take this opportunity to discover how to help move all of us from a “me-centered” to a “we-centered” world.
