Understanding Comics : Scott McCloud

Before comics were cool (again), Scott McCloud mapped out all the details for making great comics. Understanding Comics will teach you all about the fundamentals of comics. But, just as importantly, it will teach you to tell stories through pictures, and why comics matter. Praised by the likes of Art Spiegelman, Will Eisner, and Matt Groening, this book has become gospel for comic artists, illustrators, and any creative who's ever stared at a blank page and tried to make sense of it all. If you're obsessed with halftones, gutter space, and the weird magic that happens between frames, this one’s required reading. It’s the Rosetta Stone of sequential art (cleverly disguised as a comic book itself). We brought it into the shop because so many of you told us this was the book that lit the spark. If it changed your life (or you're ready for it to), now’s your chance to own it in glorious analog.
