Under the Wing

Under the Wing by Migle Kosinskaite is a mesmerizing study of vulnerability and transformation. The profile of a figure, calm and composed, is adorned with surreal precision - a checkered collar encircles the neck like both ornament and constraint, while a vivid blue butterfly rests delicately upon the shaved head. The gaze, inward and distant, holds the quiet strength of introspection. Kosinskaite’s restrained palette accentuates the intensity of that single blue - a symbol of freedom, spirit, and fragile transcendence. The checkered pattern, rigid and intellectual, contrasts with the organic grace of the butterfly, reflecting the eternal tension between logic and instinct, structure and soul. Every line and shade seems to breathe with the artist’s sensitivity to emotional nuance. In Under the Wing, Kosinskaite offers an intimate meditation on metamorphosis - the quiet moment when self-awareness lifts into liberation. The figure becomes a vessel of dualities: bound yet free, human yet ethereal, poised at the threshold where thought gives way to flight.
