Under the Arctic Cold

1984, The Barents Sea: A revolutionary Soviet attack submarine—faster, quieter, and deadlier than anything in the American fleet—threatens to upend the balance of nuclear deterrence. Within the Kremlin, ruthless GRU powerbroker Vice Admiral Sergi Baranov sees the new sub as his path to dominance in a fractured Soviet leadership. But Russian dissident Mikhail Kozlov risks everything to leak its existence to the West, fearing the fallout of its unmatched potential. To uncover the boat’s true capabilities, Commander Roy Blivens and the crew of the USS Tigerfish slip beneath the Arctic ice on a clandestine mission. What begins as surveillance becomes a silent duel in the frozen dark—where one mistake could ignite a global crisis. George Wallace crafts a taut Cold War submarine thriller filled with tension, ambition, and high-stakes brinkmanship. Readers of Tom Clancy and Jeff Shaara will enjoy. _________________________ Praise for The Cold Sea Series: “…Wallace has come up with a beauty.” —Booklist “George Wallace has written a thriller that rivals them all.” —John J.
