UltraClear® Dechlorinator

Removes various chemicals from tap and well water that are unhealthy for pond and aquarium environments.   ULTRACLEAR DECHLORINATOR Tap water and well water often contain various chemicals that are unhealthy for pond and aquarium environments. For example, tap water often contains high residual chlorine or chloramines. Well water may contain more metals than are healthy, or may contain too much hardness. Dechlorinator from UltraClear is specially formulated to make tap water safe and healthy for all fish, wildlife, and plants instantly. HOW DOES ULTRACLEAR DECHLORINATOR WORK? There are four main functions performed by UltraClear Dechlorinator: • Removes chlorine and chloramines • Promotes slime coat to protect fish gills • Detoxifies heavy metals • Reduces long term nitrate build up Here is how UltraClear Dechlorinator accomplishes these functions. The product contains sodium thiosulfate, which is a well-known, safe chemical that neutralizes chlorine and chloramines. Polyvinylpyrrolidones are polymers that promote the slime coat that protects the gills of fish. The concentration is carefully titrated to be just enough to give the needed protection, although much higher doses are not dangerous. Organic chelating compounds are included in Dechlorinator because of their ability to detoxify heavy metals. Finally, the proprietary reducing agents contained in Ultra Clear Dechlorinator reduce long-term nitrate build up. While nitrate itself is generally not toxic, higher levels of nitrate can cause problems, plus they contribute to severe algae blooms. Therefore, regular use of Ultra Clear Dechlorinator whenever you add water to a pond or aquarium gives protection to the aquatic environment. WHAT APPLICATIONS ARE TYPICAL FOR USE OF ULTRACLEAR DECHLORINATOR? UltraClear Dechlorinator is recommended for use in outdoor ponds and in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It is recommended for initial filling of the pond or tank, or whenever water changes or replacements are made. UltraClear Dechlorinator is NOT recommended for swimming pools or ponds, or for human consumption. HOW SAFE IS ULTRA CLEAR DECHLORINATOR Ultra Clear Dechlorinator is NOT for human ingestion, and like any household chemical, must be stored out of the reach of children. Ultra Clear Dechlorinator is completely harmless to all fish, wildlife, and plants when used according to dosage instructions. Ultra Clear Dechlorinator contains no phosphates, nitrates, or silicates that cause algae build up. RECOMMENDED DOSE RATE The proper product dose is based on the volume of tap or well water that you are treating. When doing a partial water exchange or fill up, treat based on the added water only, not on the total volume in the pond or tank. The recommended dose rate is 8 ounces per every 1000 gallons, which will be a very effective dose for more than 95% of all circumstances. In some unusual cases, chlorination may be particularly heavy. This may require a higher product dose to ensure water safety. However, do not add more than the recommended dose in any one application. If you suspect that your water supply has unusually high chlorine levels, dose as recommended, allow one day to pass, test your water, and reapply product if needed.
