Ultra Bond Adhesion Promoter

Ultra Bond Adhesion Promoter – Stronger Bonding for Non-Porous Surfaces Ultra Bond Adhesion Promoter is a concentrated, no-odor, water-based binder designed to help Real Milk Paint® adhere to surfaces that are otherwise too slick, sealed, or previously coated for traditional milk paint application. When mixed into your first coat of Real Milk Paint®, Ultra Bond improves mechanical grip and chemical adhesion, allowing the paint to perform reliably on glass, metal, varnish, lacquer, and many modern finishes. Because it dries clear and contains no added VOCs, Ultra Bond provides a safe, low-odor solution for projects that require dependable adhesion without compromising Real Milk Paint®’s natural look and breathable properties. Whether you’re refreshing an old dresser, painting over sound existing finishes, or working on unknown substrates, this additive offers the needed confidence and control. Key Benefits Improves Adhesion on Difficult Surfaces: Helps Real Milk Paint® bond to glass, metal, melamine, shellac, varnish, and previously painted surfaces. Non-Toxic & Zero VOC: Water-based, low-odor formulation safe for indoor use. Dries Clear: Maintains the color and finish of Real Milk Paint® without altering appearance. Mixes Easily: Add directly to pre-mixed milk paint for a smooth, consistent blend. Ideal for First Coats: Establishes a strong base layer, allowing subsequent coats of pure Real Milk Paint® to adhere effectively. Use Emerge Cleaner Degreaser or another non-residue cleaner. Lightly scuff or sand to promote mechanical adhesion. Mix Real Milk Paint® First: Blend your powdered Real Milk Paint® with water until fully mixed and smooth. Add Ultra Bond: Mix 1 part Ultra Bond to 4 parts liquid Real Milk Paint®. Example: Add 8 oz of Ultra Bond to 1 quart (32 oz) of mixed paint. Blend Thoroughly: Stir until the Ultra Bond is fully incorporated. The paint may thicken slightly, which is normal. Apply the First Coat: Brush or roll the Ultra Bond–enhanced paint onto the prepared surface. Test Before Full Application: Always test adhesion on a small section and allow 24 hours to dry before proceeding with the full project. Hints & Tips Scuff sanding improves results: Light abrasion helps both mechanical and chemical adhesion. Test on unknown surfaces: Always check a small area first, especially on older or unidentified finishes. Stir paint periodically: Ultra Bond may slightly thicken the mixture, so keep the paint well-blended. Add more for tricky substrates: Glossy, sealed, and non-porous surfaces may benefit from a higher Ultra Bond ratio. Ensure surface is wax- and oil-free: Any contamination can prevent adhesion—clean thoroughly before painting.
