What is a block print? Hand block printed Indian textiles are a type of fabric that is made using a traditional method of printing by hand using wooden blocks. The technique is thought to have originated in India over 2000 years ago, and it involves using carved wooden blocks to apply dye or pigment to a fabric surface. The designs used in hand block printing are typically intricate and detailed, and may include floral patterns, geometric shapes, or other decorative elements. The process of making hand block printed textiles is highly skilled and labor-intensive, and can involve multiple layers of printing and dyeing to achieve the desired effect. Hand block printed Indian textiles are used to make a wide range of products, including clothing, bedding, table linens, and home decor items. The fabrics used for hand block printing can vary, but are often made from natural fibers such as cotton, silk, or linen. Hand block printed Indian textiles are highly valued for their unique beauty and craftsmanship. They are often exported around the world, and are prized by collectors and enthusiasts of traditional Indian textiles.  It's important to note that because these textiles are handmade, there may be some variation in the color and design from one piece to another. Care instructions: Cold machine wash separately on a delicate cycle with a very minimal amount of mild detergent. Do not tumble dry, soak or bleach. Iron at medium setting if necessary. For spot cleaning, gently dab the area with water (do not rub).  Due to the nature of hand printed fabrics, variation in color and pattern may occur.
