Using this media will give you a recording time of 5-6 minutes when recording a full disc at 16x. The Silver Thermal Surface CMC Pro's Silver Thermal surface is a different surface than the standard “shiny lacquer" surface CMC produces for screen printing on Rimage Prism Printers. This surface is specifically designed to work with Rimage Everest Printers. Standard “shiny lacquer" surfaces will not hold a Rimage Everest print. The top surface of this blank DVD offers a more cloudy silver surface, as compared to a surface with no coating, but this premium coating provides the finest thermal Everest print surface available on DVD, built specifically to Rimage specifications. Using a white thermal surface may produce a better print when printing in color with an Everest, as the white background is a better base to show true print colors. Be certain that this silver thermal surface is what you are looking for and that your resulting printed artwork will look nice over a silver background. We have many clients who create striking artwork using the Rimage Everest and this CMC Pro Powered by TY silver thermal for Everest, taking advantage of the mirrored look that the silver surface delivers. Taiyo Yuden manufactured the first CD-R disc. As one of Japan's largest chemical companies, Taiyo Yuden worked with Sony and Phillips to produce the dye material that stores the data on CD-Rs. Later, Taiyo Yuden used its experience with optical media to develop high-quality recordable DVDs. Today, these Powered by TY DVD-Rs feature this proven Japanese dye technology.
