A replica bust of the most famous ancient Egyptian pharaoh, Tutankhamun. This intricately crafted bust, made from high-quality gypsum plaster, is a unique piece designed to serve a dual purpose. One side of the bust is flat, allowing it to function not only as a decorative sculpture but also as a practical bookend, adding a touch of historical elegance to any bookshelf or study. Tutankhamun, often referred to as the Boy King, reigned over ancient Egypt from approximately 1336 to 1327 BCE during the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom. His ascension to the throne at a very young age and his untimely death at around 18 years old mark a brief yet fascinating period in Egypt's rich history. Despite his short reign, Tutankhamun's legacy has endured through the millennia, largely due to the remarkable discovery of his tomb. The tomb of Tutankhamun was unearthed in November 1922 by British archaeologist Howard Carter and his patron, the fifth Earl of Carnarvon. This monumental discovery is considered one of the most significant archaeological achievements of the 20th century. The tomb's vast wealth of artifacts provided an unprecedented glimpse into the funerary practices, art, and craftsmanship of ancient Egypt's royal elite. Among the treasures found within the tomb, the most famous is undoubtedly the golden burial mask of Tutankhamun. This exquisitely crafted mask, with its intricate detailing and use of precious materials, has become a symbol of ancient Egyptian opulence and the enduring allure of the Boy King's story. This gypsum plaster bust, inspired by the artistry of ancient Egypt, is a tribute to Tutankhamun's enduring legacy. Whether used as a bookend or displayed as a standalone piece, it serves as a reminder of the young pharaoh's place in history and the timeless fascination with his reign and the treasures uncovered in his tomb.
