Turbulent Waters

Merr Watson has always had a passion for photographing the ocean with a drone.  There is something about capturing the raw power and movements of waves that fascinates her. She loves the unique textures, patterns and colors of the ocean. This image was taken on a beautiful summer afternoon just before the sun started to set on City Beach in Perth. She was attracted to the color contrasts of the sand and the turquoise ocean. Watson hovered her drone just above the shoreline until a wave rolled in so she could capture more interesting textures and movement. After a few attempts, she was able to capture the shot that resulted in an image she was super proud to have created.
