Exceptional Scratch Resistance: Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest metals used in jewelry, offering near scratch-proof durability that's perfect for everyday wear and active lifestyles. Sleek Polished Finish: The modern, mirror-like polished finish provides a brilliant contrast that makes your inlay colors pop. Wide Inlay Channel: The generous 4mm channel is our most popular size, providing the perfect canvas to showcase the intricate beauty of your crushed opal or other inlay materials. Comfort & Heft: Tungsten has a satisfying weight and is finished with a smooth comfort-fit interior, giving the final ring a substantial, high-quality feel. Important Crafting Instructions EXTREME HARDNESS: Tungsten Carbide is extremely hard, which means it cannot be resized. Ensure correct sizing before purchase. FINISHING YOUR INLAY: Due to its scratch-resistance, the tungsten itself is difficult to sand. Focus on carefully sanding your inlay material flush with the edges of the channel. We recommend using tape to protect the polished finish. DURABLE BUT BRITTLE: While incredibly scratch-resistant, tungsten carbide can be brittle. A sharp impact against a very hard surface (like being dropped on concrete) can cause it to crack or shatter. Creative Applications Crushed Opal Rings: The 4mm channel is the ultimate canvas for creating a bold crushed opal inlay. The dark, polished metal makes every color of our opal ring supplies pop with incredible vibrancy. Wedding Bands: Create a rugged and modern wedding band that is built to withstand the test of time, symbolizing strength and commitment. Wood & Meteorite Inlays: The wide channel and durable body are ideal for inlaying unique materials like exotic wood, meteorite, or dinosaur bone against a sleek, modern frame.
