Tungsten Carbide Burs

These high-quality tungsten carbide jeweler's burs are ideal for carving and shaping resins, wax, acrylics, and metals. Usage Carbide burs are perfect for jewelry work, metalworking, woodworking, and wax carving in many materials including chrome-cobalt alloys, precious metal alloys, chrome-nickel alloys, and model cast alloys. Use these jewelry carbide burs in your Foredom flex-shaft handpieces or Dremel fitting a 2.35mm shank. Strong carbide steel reduces heat and friction and the reinforced shanks will provide long life at your bench. You can maximize the life of your burs by using a jeweler's lubricant such as Cut Lube Jeweler's Lubricant. Follow up with rubber polishing burs to a finer finish. Specifications Suitable for all jewelry projects, they are available in multiple coarseness and pattern cuts to meet the demands for your workpieces. Cross-cut burs have teeth rather than the usual fluting on the cutting surface; ideal for very aggressive material removal. These durable tungsten carbide cutters are available in multiple shapes to add versatility to your toolset, allowing you to customize your cuts to the jewelry work at hand: Flame burs are the easiest and most versatile shape, excellent to refine rounded shapes in bezel settings and castings Cylinder burs have straight, cross-cut sides that allow removal of large amounts of material faster and more effectively than is possible with a hand file when grinding, filing and enlarging openings. Small sizes are ideal for accessing small spaces such as quickly trimming the inside of rings Flat Head Cones and needles are perfect for grinding, filing, and enlarging holes. Cone shape burs are useful for deburring, enlarging, and adjusting the location of holes in flush settings before refining the seat Round ball and pear-shaped burs are for creating settings, shaping, and texturing Inverted cone burs are ideal for cutting bezel shoulders and to undercut inlay or channel settings. Several cut levels of each shape allow for the precise speed and smoothness needed to complete a range of tasks at your jewelry bench: Coarse Double/Cross Cut (green rings) offers rapid material removal and efficient initial shaping. Perfect for rough shaping of wax. Medium Single/Plain Cut (blue rings) gives a smooth cutting pattern, reducing rework needed to achieve a final finish on metals and a smoother finish on wax. Medium Double/Cross Cut (blue rings) provides coarse abrasion for precise shaping, texturing, and cleanup of metals and wax models. Fine Double/Cross Cut (red rings) is suitable for smoothing the work surface and accurate detail work Extra Fine Double/Cross Cut (yellow rings) is ideal for fine finishing of gold, alloys and all versions of resins and composites. The cut also suited for ceramics to avoid the occurrence of crackles These burs are also available in a tungsten carbide bur set to quickly outfit your jewelry rotary tools, allowing you to jump-start your selection and add individual burs as needed later. Small-head tungsten carbide burs are also available for precise, fine work on small pieces.
