Ceremonial British Officer’s Leather Case with Royal Arms & Order of the Bath Motto

Ceremonial British Officer’s Leather Case with Royal Arms & Order of the Bath Motto Early 20th Century Found in England Fully Restored   An extraordinary early 20th century British officer’s ceremonial leather case, richly constructed in thick chestnut saddle leather and mounted with brass studs, reinforced corners, and original locks stamped “Made in England.” Fully restored in England, the case retains a deep, warm patina and an unmistakable presence that speaks to its elevated origin.   At the center is the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom, a symbol reserved for use by the monarchy and those operating under Crown authority. Beneath, a green leather panel is mounted with three gilt and enamel badges bearing the Latin motto:   TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO — “Three Joined in One”   This motto is historically tied to the Most Honourable Order of the Bath and the elite regiments of the Household Division, including the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish, and Welsh Guards. These were not ordinary military units, but the sovereign’s own guard, placing this object firmly within the world of high ceremonial service, officer rank, and royal affiliation.   The interior is monogrammed P.D.E., indicating its original owner, almost certainly an officer or individual connected to distinguished service under the Crown. Pieces of this nature were often privately commissioned or presented to mark rank, retirement, or significant achievement.   Constructed over a wooden frame and wrapped in robust leather, the case was built for durability while maintaining a refined and authoritative aesthetic. Today, it stands not just as a functional object, but as a rare artifact of British military and ceremonial history.   Condition Professionally restored in England Leather retains a rich, even patina with age appropriate wear Brass mounts, studs, and locks intact and structurally sound Enamel badges well preserved with minor wear consistent with age Interior shows expected wear with monogram intact   A powerful and highly collectible piece that bridges craftsmanship, history, and prestige. This is not simply a travel case, but a statement object tied to the upper ranks of British service.
