It is suitable for cats aged 3 months and older. Features Two-level interactive box Upper rod-sliding level Lower paw-digging level Non-slip rubber feet Food-safe plastic materials Benefits Two Levels of Fun: This box provides two completely different play experiences, with a rod-sliding upper level and a paw-digging lower level, doubling the enrichment in a single toy. Rod-Sliding Upper Level: On the top level, cats must use their paws to push aside sliding rods to uncover and retrieve treats hidden in the holes beneath them. Full-Paw Lower Level: The lower compartment features openings wide enough for cats to dig around with their whole paw, giving a more tactile and immersive treat-retrieval experience. Reduces Boredom: The dual-level challenge keeps cats mentally active and entertained for extended periods, helping to reduce boredom and the destructive or restless behavior it can cause indoors. Strengthens Pet-Human Bond: Interactive play sessions with this toy create positive shared experiences between cats and their owners, building trust, engagement, and a stronger bond over time. Non-Slip Rubber Feet: Rubber feet on the base of the box prevent it from sliding or tipping across the floor while your cat actively paws, digs, and investigates each level. How to Use Play Instructions Start on the Upper Level: For beginners, place treats inside the holes on the upper level without using the rods so your cat can discover and retrieve them easily and build confidence. Add the Rod Challenge: Once your cat is comfortable with the upper level, insert the rods over the treat holes so your cat must push them aside to uncover and retrieve each reward. Use the Lower Level: Place treats inside the lower paw-access compartments so your cat can reach in with their whole paw and dig around to find and retrieve each hidden reward. Additional Information Care Instructions  Dishwasher Safe: All parts of this toy are fully dishwasher safe; disassemble the rods from the upper level and place all components on the top rack for a thorough clean after use. Remove Treat Residue First: Before placing components in the dishwasher, shake out any remaining dry treat pieces from the holes and lower compartments to prevent food residue from baking on during washing. Store in Dry Location: Ensure all parts are fully dry before storing the toy in a clean, dry location to prevent moisture from building up between the plastic and rubber components over time. Safety Instructions Supervise All Play: Always watch your cat closely during every play session to ensure the toy is used safely for pawing and exploring only and not for biting or forceful chewing. Dry Treats Only: Use only small, bite-size dry treats or dry kibble with this toy; avoid wet or moist foods that can soil the rod holes and lower compartment openings and be difficult to clean. Inspect Before Each Use: Before every session, check the rods, base, lower openings, and rubber feet for any cracks or damage, and stop use immediately if any component is broken or missing. Ans: This toy has two separate challenge levels in one box. On the upper level, cats push aside sliding rods to access treat holes underneath. On the lower level, cats reach inside paw-access openings and dig around with their whole paw to find and retrieve hidden treats. Q2: What age cats is this toy suitable for? Ans: This toy is suitable for cats aged 3 months and older. Its two-level design with rod-sliding and paw-digging challenges is appropriate for kittens, adult cats, and seniors alike. Always supervise younger kittens during their first sessions to make sure they are using the toy safely and confidently. Q3: How do the upper and lower levels differ? Ans: The upper level requires cats to push sliding rods aside with their paws to uncover treats hidden in the holes beneath them. The lower level has wider openings that allow cats to reach inside with their whole paw to dig around and retrieve treats placed inside the compartment. Q4: Is this toy dishwasher safe? Ans: Yes, all parts of this toy are fully dishwasher safe. Remove the rods and place all components on the top rack of the dishwasher after use. Shake out any remaining treat pieces first to prevent residue buildup during the cycle, and inspect all parts after washing before returning to play. Q5: What treats work best with this toy? Ans: Small, bite-size dry treats or dry kibble work best with this toy. Wet, moist, or sticky foods are not suitable as they can clog the rod holes and lower openings and are difficult to clean. Always use treats appropriate for your cat's dietary needs and daily portion requirements. Q6: Is this toy safe for cats to use with food? Ans: Yes, this Trixie rod box toy is made from BPA, phthalate, and lead-free plastic, making all surfaces food-safe and completely non-toxic for cats. It is suitable for daily treat-based enrichment play. Supervised use is always recommended, especially during initial sessions with younger or less experienced cats.
