Triangle Solstice 8 Hi-Fi Floorstanding Speaker

High-Fidelity Passive Speaker Rooms from 15 to 50m² 25mm Barrel-Shaped Magnesium Alloy Tweeter 16cm (6.5") Natural Cellulose Midrange Base tilted 2° Double Terminal Block 2 × 16 cm Paper Woofers with no dust cap Power Handling 130 W FLOORSTANDING SPEAKERS SOLSTICE 8 Engineered for large spaces, the Solstice 8 combines great performance and a wide soundstage, faithfully reproducing the full emotional impact of recordings with naturalness and precision. This 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker benefits from the key innovations developed for SOLSTICE, such as the new ‘barrel-type’ horn tweeter, optimisations to the midrange and woofer drivers, and the innovative base design, which combines several functions. The Solstice 8 stands out for its ability to combine breadth and subtlety. Its two woofers, with their sleek design, give it a remarkable foundation capable of reproducing both the scale of a large orchestra and the energy and liveliness of contemporary music. Within a wide and precise soundstage, the mid-to-high range naturally reveals both the harmonic richness of the instruments and the subtle nuances of the vocal range. Thanks to its high dynamic range and dual terminals compatible with bi-wiring or bi-amping, the Solstice 8 is ideally suited to a system in a room of 15 to 50 m², whether for Hi-Fi use or as part of a home cinema setup. KEYPOINTS SOUND SIGNATURE A BALANCE BETWEEN STRENGTH AND SUBTILITY As the successor to the iconic Comète, the Solstice 3 continues the tradition of TRIANGLE bookshelf speakers capable of delivering a rich sound in a compact format. More balanced and refined, it combines natural timbres, rich detail and a wide soundstage. Vocals gain in presence, instruments in clarity, whilst the lower frequencies are perfectly controlled. It offers a lively and deeply musical listening experience, true to TRIANGLE’s DNA whilst setting a new benchmark in terms of performance and refinement. NEW HORN TWEETER TZ2540 MG ADVANCED ACOUSTIC TECHNOLOGIES The new TZ2540MG horn tweeter represents a significant part of the acoustic innovations developed for SOLSTICE. It is based on a combination of two new acoustic architectures developed specifically for the range. • A new phase plug that optimises the dispersion of high frequencies. • A horn with an improved profile and a barrel-shaped mouth. SOLSTICE TECHNOLOGIES NEW DRIVER ARCHITECTURE New basket Developed specifically for SOLSTICE, the new 16cm die-cast aluminium salad bowl features an arch-shaped structure that is highly acoustically neutral. Enlarged midrange The membrane benefits from a new rear-glueing system that increases the radiating surface area and improves the linearity of the sound reproduction. Deep bass Low frequencies are handled by new 16 cm drivers with concave cones and no dust cap, whose design combines visual elegance with acoustic performance. DESIGNED TO THE SMALLEST DETAIL AN OPTIMISED BASE Hidden air flow It conceals a laminar bass-reflex port specific to the range. This design, a first for TRIANGLE, reduces flow noise whilst ensuring dynamic and perfectly controlled low frequencies. A dual-material structure The base consists of a cast iron honeycomb structure covered with a thick layer of silicone. The combination of these two materials effectively absorbs vibrations from the speaker and helps to mechanically decouple it. 2° Inclination Its 2-degree tilt optimises the speaker's directionality by widening the listening field, whilst making the speaker appear sleeker and enhancing its sense of stability. Adjustable spikes The Solstice 8 comes with adjustable metal spikes and counter-spikes to ensure excellent stability, whatever the floor surface. HI-FI & HOME CINEMA VERSATILITY The Solstice 8 builds on the legacy of the Antal models, one of TRIANGLE’s iconic ranges. It retains the qualities that have forged its reputation: a lively sound, an open soundstage and great versatility, excelling equally well in music listening and in a home cinema setup, in an even more refined version. TECHINCAL SPECIFICATIONS Speaker use Recommended room size The Solstice 8 is recommended for listening rooms with a floor area of between 15 and 50m². Find the model in the Solstice range that suits your listening room: • Between 10 and 35m²: Solstice 3 • Between 15 and 50m²: Solstice 8 Amplifier and Power Handling Recommended amplifier RMS power: 60 to 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Speaker power handling: 130 watts * A speaker’s power handling refers to the average continuous power that the speaker can handle without damaging the drivers. You can use an amplifier with a higher power rating than the speakers’ power handling capacity by limiting the volume to 70 per cent of the maximum capacity. Conversely, an amplifier that is too weak will clip and cause distortion, which can also damage the speakers if used beyond its capacity. Features Speaker Specifications • Type: Bass-reflex with laminar vent floorstanding speaker • Number of ways: 3 • Sensitivity: 91 dB • Frequency response (+/- 3 dB): 38 Hz – 22,000 Hz • Nominal impedance: 8 Ω • Minimum impedance: 3.6 Ω * A loudspeaker’s impedance can be thought of simply as electrical resistance. The lower the loudspeaker’s impedance, the more current the amplifier will need to deliver. - The nominal impedance, also known as the ‘standardised’ impedance, is measured at a frequency of 1 kHz - The minimum impedance is measured at low frequencies. TRIANGLE speakers never drop below 3 ohms, which means they can be used with virtually all Hi-Fi and home cinema amplifiers.
