Trekell 5-Piece Minimal Brush Set

5 Piece Minimal Brush Set – Golden Taklon, Short Handle This 5 piece minimal brush set is for artists who want a compact kit that can still handle almost any task. All five brushes are short handle Golden Taklon, a smooth synthetic filament that works beautifully with acrylics, gouache, watercolor, inks, and thinned oils when properly cleaned. It includes everything in our 3 piece minimal set, plus two carefully chosen additions that expand your control for both general painting and fine detail. What is included #4 Round – Your everyday workhorse. Ideal for drawing in, small shapes, and general painting. It can switch from fine lines to fuller strokes with a simple change in pressure. #1 Round – Your precision round. Smaller than the #4, it is perfect for tighter work, small forms, and controlled marks where you want more detail but do not need a full liner. #8 Bright – Your blocker and shaper. The shorter, flat bristles excel at blocking in, building structure, and creating crisp edges. Use the flat for bold marks and the edge for sharp, narrow strokes. #8 Cat’s Tongue – Your versatile hybrid. With its pointed tip and fuller body, it can lay in broader strokes, then transition into finer lines and tapered marks in a single motion. Great for petals, leaves, facial features, and expressive, calligraphic strokes. #1 Liner – Your detail specialist. The long, fine point is made for line work, eyelashes, hair, branches, lettering, whiskers, and tiny highlights. Load it with fluid paint or ink for smooth, continuous lines. Why Golden Taklon, short handle? Golden Taklon offers a consistent, reliable point and even paint release across all five brushes. It is soft enough for smooth strokes and glazing, yet responsive enough to keep edges clean and details sharp. The short handles keep you close to your work, making this set ideal for table‑top painting, illustration, miniature work, and any situation where control and comfort matter. What you can do with this set Sketch, block in, and refine compositions with the #4 and #1 rounds. Build shapes and edges with the #8 bright. Create organic forms and expressive strokes with the #8 cat’s tongue. Finish with clean line work and tiny accents using the #5/0 liner. This set is compact enough to travel or keep beside your easel, but complete enough to take you from first sketch to final details without reaching for a large rack of extra brushes. Use it as a standalone, do‑almost‑everything kit, or as the core of your studio setup that you expand with a few specialty brushes as your style evolves.
