Trebuchet Kit

Tre•bu•chet: (tré-buh-shay) a 15th-century military engine used for hurling weapons and rocks. With the Pitsco Trebuchet Kit, experience the thrill of flinging projectiles like those medieval machines while focusing on height, velocity, and distance – rather than knocking down the enemy’s fortress. Students can alter characteristics of the trebuchet – projectile (clay) mass, string length, or the counterweight – to test different variables. Students also see these concepts in action: levers, inertia, counterweights, and friction. Looking for standards-based activities to accompany these materials? The Trebuchets Teacher’s Guide is available for print here, or you can download a digital copy for free here. Order 30 kits to build a class pack!
