Travis McGee Series

First published between 1964 and 1984, John D. MacDonald’s Travis McGee series continues to inspire bestselling authors today. Everyone from Stephen King to Jonathan Kellerman has paid homage to MacDonald’s work, which defined the genre itself. McGee is a bachelor, a man who can be friends with the ladies as well as have a passion for them. McGee is not a cop or a private investigator, but rather a professional salvage consultant who finds other people’s property when he runs low on spare cash. He considers himself a beach bum and lives on a houseboat in Fort Lauderdale.
