Trauma Triggers Worksheet

Trauma triggers are terrifying reminders from the past, which can include a certain sound, smell, emotion, or situation. These triggers are unique to the individual who experienced the trauma. When a client is “triggered,” they may feel numb, restless, and overwhelmed, and experience changes in their behaviors. The Trauma Triggers Worksheet is designed to help clients mentally prepare for situations where they're about to be reminded of past traumas. They can write down specific trauma triggers, explore how they've handled them before, and identify specific coping skills when things get overwhelming. Consider this worksheet a tool that will equip them with the skills they need to lessen the impact of their triggers. This tool can be used to help kids and teens identify trauma triggers, and physical warning signs, and develop skills to manage a negative situation. Caring adults and mental health professionals can use this to de-escalate the crisis and prepare for the appropriate treatment. *This item is an instant digital download.
