Trauma Coping Statements

Trauma coping statements are short, positive phrases that help clients deal with stress and strong feelings following difficult experiences. These phrases offer comfort and allow them to feel calm and in control. They are often beneficial in therapy or self-care, especially for those recovering from trauma. The Trauma Coping Statements worksheet features different positive statements and empty spaces for clients to write their personalized statements. Once completed, the worksheet can be kept nearby or displayed as a constant reminder to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Using this worksheet can help kids and teens build emotional resilience by developing a habit of self-affirmation. Repeating these phrases daily, either silently or aloud, helps them feel more hopeful. Healing takes time, but adults can offer support by being patient, actively listening, and having conversations with them often. This worksheet can be used alongside calming activities like deep breaths or journaling to support long-term emotional recovery. It also pairs well with our Trauma Coping Statements handout for additional self-talk phrases. *This item is an instant digital download.
