Trane 5TXCA002AS3HC 30-36,000 BTU 2.5-3 Ton 14 1/2" Coil - R454B

Trane 5TXCA002AS3HCA – 30-36,000 BTU 2.5–3.0 Ton Aluminum Cased Upflow / Downflow / Horizontal Evaporator Coil Deliver efficient indoor cooling and heat pump performance with the Trane 5TXCA002AS3HCA, a premium aluminum evaporator coil engineered for residential split system HVAC applications. As part of Trane’s 5TXC Series Comfort™ coil platform, this cased indoor coil features aluminum plate-fin construction, a factory-installed non-bleed thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), and flexible multi-position installation capability designed to support efficient refrigerant control and dependable HVAC system operation. 2.5–3.0 Ton Cooling Capacity Platform The 5TXCA002AS3HCA coil is designed to support nominal cooling capacities ranging from approximately 2.5 to 3.0 tons when paired with compatible Trane split system air conditioners or heat pumps. The coil features a two-row plate-fin configuration with 20 fins per inch and approximately 4.5 square feet of face area, helping optimize heat transfer performance and maintain efficient airflow across the coil surface. Aluminum Plate-Fin Coil Construction The indoor coil utilizes 3/8-inch seamless aluminum tubing mechanically bonded to aluminum plate fins to promote efficient heat transfer and corrosion resistance. This all-aluminum design helps improve long-term durability while maintaining consistent refrigerant flow and efficient cooling performance in residential HVAC environments. Factory-Installed Non-Bleed TXV Refrigerant Control The 5TXCA002AS3HCA features a factory-installed non-bleed thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) that precisely regulates refrigerant flow during cooling and heat pump operation. This metering device helps maintain stable evaporator temperatures, improve energy efficiency, and optimize overall system performance under varying load conditions. Compatibility with R-454B Refrigerant Systems The coil is designed for use with R-454B refrigerant systems and includes brazed refrigerant connections with 3/4-inch gas line and 3/8-inch liquid line connections. This configuration supports compatibility with modern Trane outdoor units designed for next-generation refrigerants and high-efficiency split system operation. Multi-Position Installation Flexibility The 5TXC Series cabinet design supports installation in upflow, downflow, or horizontal configurations, allowing the coil to be integrated into a wide range of residential HVAC system layouts. This flexibility simplifies installation and allows contractors to match the coil with various furnaces or air handlers depending on system design requirements. Integrated Drain Pan Design for Condensate Management The coil assembly includes a vertical drain pan with primary and secondary drain connections for vertical installations, as well as a horizontal drain pan with primary and secondary drain connections for horizontal applications. This design helps ensure proper condensate removal and protects surrounding HVAC components during cooling operation. Service-Friendly Cabinet with Coil Access The cabinet features removable front and interior access panels that allow technicians to easily access the evaporator coil entering air surface for inspection and cleaning. This service-friendly design simplifies maintenance procedures and helps maintain long-term HVAC system efficiency. Compact Cased Coil Cabinet Design The 5TXCA002AS3HCA coil features an uncrated cabinet size of approximately 22.5 inches high, 14.5 inches wide, and 21.5 inches deep, allowing installation in tight mechanical spaces while still maintaining adequate airflow capacity for residential split system HVAC installations. Engineered for Reliable Split System HVAC Performance Ideal for residential air conditioning and heat pump systems, the Trane 5TXCA002AS3HCA evaporator coil combines durable aluminum construction, efficient refrigerant control, and flexible installation capability in a compact cased coil platform designed to support reliable indoor comfort and long-term HVAC system performance.
