In the early days of Taiwan’s rail travel, long-distance journeys on slow or local trains could take hours. With limited onboard services, passengers depended on mobile vendors who moved through the carriages, offering food, drinks, and small essentials along the way. These vendors, known as hawkers, carried wooden trays strapped to their shoulders. Each tray held a variety of items such as newspapers, boxed meals, candy, drinks, and books. Their lively calls echoed through the train cars, bringing both convenience and a sense of energy to the long ride. This sculpture captures that moving moment of trade and connection, when the rhythm of the train was matched by the sounds of footsteps, voices, and the everyday bustle of passengers and vendors sharing the same journey. Edition of 36 Dimensions: 8.3 × 7.1 × 11.4 in (21 × 18 × 29 cm) Weight: 10.6 lbs (4.8 kg) Material: Bronze
