Train Boyfriends, by Becky Curl

Prose, chapbook, 40 pages, from Bottlecap Features. For anyone who has ever commuted on public transportation to their job, Train Boyfriends is for you. Those who take public transit regularly understand that there are certain unspoken commuter rules that they are required to follow, especially when it comes to love. Train Boyfriends is a collection of essays that explores the ups and downs of finding love on your commutes to and from work. It celebrates the beauty of the mundane, while also illustrating the complexities of relationships. Train Boyfriends chronicles one woman’s experiences with romance on public transit. It’s not only a commentary on the difficulties encountered in modern dating, but also the way in which the smallest interactions can ultimately change the trajectory of our lives. Through a mix of humor and brutally honest emotions, Train Boyfriends shows just how important each tiny moment in our lives can be. If you found love on the train, would you leave it there or try to take it with you? Becky Curl is a Chicago based writer and make-up artist.
