Yellow Vinyl. This is TR/ST at the act's darkest, danciest, very best. The songs on Performance are emotionally nuanced and cinematic, with lyrics about a relationship that's DOA, lingering lust, and a longing for doomed, illusory love. The atmosphere is brooding and beautiful, with moments of transcendence occasionally breaking through the storm clouds. Set against the noir landscape of nighttime Los Angeles, Performance feels bigger than life yet deeply relatable. Exquisite, devastating, and enchanting.
