TotalCast Resin 1:1 Fast curing resin

TotalCAST Clear Art Resin is a revolutionary quick cure hybrid polymer that produces an optically clear, high gloss finish for coating artwork and for creating jewelry.  Key advantages: 1:1 mixing ratio by volume or weight Non toxic and VOC free Can be partnered with Aqua Cast Eco resin when casting in a mould, see pouring guidelines below Odor free and solvent free Built in air release agents and moisture scavengers. UV Stable, no need for HALS or UV blockers Differences between totalCAST and MasterCast 1-2-1: Mixed viscosity: totalCAST has a lower mixed viscosity and a thinner consistency than MasterCast  Curing time:  totalCAST cures in half the time (3-4hrs), MasterCast offers a longer working time Mixing The mixing ratio must be accurately followed to achieve perfect results. It is not possible to change the ratio which would result in the resin not drying properly and lower mechanical properties. The mixed components should be thoroughly stirred for 3-4 minutes to ensure an even consistency. Epoxy systems tend to heat up in a pot than as a thin film, only mix the amount needed for use within the pot life of the product. For the 200ml Twin Pack, simply open the pre-filled pouch, remove the separator clip, knead the two parts together for 2 minutes, cut a corner and pour. The Twin Pack will cover 0.4m² @ 0.5mm thick. Mixed product cannot be saved for future use. Application The product can be applied by pouring from the mixing vessel, by brush or roller. The mixed resin can be tinted with our resi-TINT pigments, resi-METAL or resi-TINT+ Metallic Powders to make your artwork pop. resi-BLAST will add stunning cells and effects. Pouring guidelines for mixing art resin and Aqua Cast When pouring Aqua Cast onto previously poured resin, please ensure the resin has entered the gel phase but is not yet touch dry to allow the aqua cast to adhere. This will vary depending upon depth and size of the mold. If you think you have missed the gel window, wait for the resin to dry, and thoroughly abrade to create a key before pouring Aqua Cast. When pouring resin onto Aqua Cast the time between pours is not as important as the resin will adhere to most surfaces. Wait until it is visibly dry, normally 1-2 hours before pouring the resin. It is recommended to carry out the resin pour within 24 hours. Health & Safety Although our resins are formulated with the most modern and safest epoxy chemicals available, all epoxy resins are chemicals and should be managed and handled with proactive safety hygiene and responsible care. Always wear nitrile gloves (or use a specialist resin barrier cream) Wear a respirator when sanding partially-cured resin It is advisable to work in a well ventilated room We advise the use of safety goggles Avoid skin contact (if resin gets on skin wash with plenty of soap & water) DO NOT eat, drink or smoke while working In case of eye contamination wash with plenty of water for 15 minutes and consult medical advice immediately Adding inks/paints/mica powder/glitter to epoxy resin will change its properties. If you use alcohol inks DO NOT use a flame to remove bubbles, as alcohol is flammable.
