Quick Facts: ABV: 5.5%  |  Origin: Piedmont, Italy  |  Style: Sweet Sparkling Red  |  Producer: Tosti S.p.A. Production & Heritage Tosti S.p.A. operates from the heart of Piedmont, a region renowned for its sparkling wine tradition spanning Moscato d'Asti and Brachetto d'Acqui. Red Amore is produced entirely from Brachetto grapes, which are macerated to extract their characteristic color and aromatic intensity. Temperature-controlled fermentation preserves the grape's delicate floral qualities while developing a natural perlage — the fine, persistent bubbles that define the wine's texture. The result is a purple-red wine with brilliant reflections and a restrained 5.5% alcohol level, significantly lower than most still wines. Tasting Notes Aroma: The nose opens with fragrant floral notes that carry a slightly musky, intoxicating quality. Beneath the florals, there is a subtle sweetness suggesting ripe red berries and fresh grape must. Taste: The entry is immediately fresh and gently sweet, with the natural fruit character of Brachetto taking center stage. At mid-palate, the wine reveals an elegant balance between its residual sugar and a lively acidity that prevents it from becoming cloying. The fine perlage lifts the flavors and adds a pleasant textural sparkle across the tongue. Finish: The finish is moderately long with wisely dosed aromatic persistence. Lingering floral and red fruit impressions fade gradually, leaving a clean, refreshing close. How to Drink Red Amore Serve well chilled between 6–8°C (43–46°F) to showcase the wine's aromatic freshness and clean fruit character. Its low alcohol and natural sweetness make it a versatile ingredient in light cocktails: try it in a Sparkling Sangria, where its berry-forward profile pairs naturally with sliced stone fruit; in a Kir Royale variation, substituting it for traditional Champagne to create a fruitier, lower-ABV take on the classic; or in a simple Brachetto Spritz, lengthened with a splash of soda water and a twist of orange peel. Best For Romantic dinners or anniversary celebrations where the name and deep ruby color set a memorable tone Dessert pairings at dinner parties — especially alongside chocolate, berries, or fruit tarts Introducing non-wine-drinkers to sparkling reds thanks to the approachable 5.5% ABV Warm-weather aperitivo sessions where a lighter, sweeter sparkler is preferred over Prosecco Frequently Asked Questions What does Red Amore taste like? Tosti Red Amore delivers a fresh, gently sweet palate of red fruit and floral notes with fine bubbles, balanced by bright acidity. The overall impression is elegant and aromatic rather than heavy or overly sugary. How does Red Amore compare to Brachetto d'Acqui DOCG? Both wines are made from the Brachetto grape and share a sweet, aromatic profile with similar floral and red-fruit character. Brachetto d'Acqui carries a DOCG designation with stricter production regulations and is typically positioned at a higher price point, while Red Amore aims for everyday accessibility at a comparable flavor profile. Is Red Amore good for beginners? Its low 5.5% ABV, natural sweetness, and soft effervescence make it one of the most approachable sparkling wines available. Newcomers to wine often find its gentle fruit-forward character far less intimidating than drier, higher-alcohol sparkling styles. Where is Red Amore made? Red Amore is produced by Tosti S.p.A. in Piedmont, northwestern Italy — a region celebrated for iconic sparkling wines including Asti Spumante, Moscato d'Asti, and Brachetto d'Acqui. What foods pair well with Red Amore? Dark chocolate truffles complement the wine's musky floral notes; fresh strawberries and raspberries echo its red-fruit character; panna cotta or crème brûlée contrast its acidity with creamy richness; mild blue cheese like Gorgonzola Dolce creates a classic sweet-savory interplay; and almond biscotti harmonize with the wine's delicate aromatics. What sizes does Red Amore come in? Tosti Red Amore is widely available in the standard 750ml bottle, which features the brand's internationally patented "belly button" bottle design. Is Red Amore worth the price? Red Amore positions as an entry-level sweet sparkling red, delivering genuine Brachetto character at an accessible price tier well below most DOCG-designated Brachetto d'Acqui wines, making it strong value within its category. Why Red Amore? Brachetto is one of Piedmont's most underappreciated indigenous grapes, and Tosti's Red Amore brings it to a wider audience without sacrificing varietal authenticity. The temperature-controlled fermentation preserves the grape's naturally intoxicating floral perfume — a quality that distinguishes Brachetto from other sweet red sparkling wines like Lambrusco. At just 5.5% ABV, it occupies a rare niche: a genuinely flavorful wine that drinks closer to a sophisticated spritzer than a full-bodied red. For anyone seeking a sweet Italian sparkler beyond Moscato d'Asti, Red Amore represents an inviting and legitimate entry point into the world of Brachetto.
