Torso Table Lamp

The Audo Copenhagen Torso Table Lamp combines sculptural ceramic with handmade linen in a design that feels like it came from your grandmother's home - in the best possible way. Created by Copenhagen-based studio Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen, the lamp draws inspiration from childhood memories of atmospheric objects shaped by human hands, bringing that same warmth and tactile quality to contemporary interiors. The gently rounded ceramic base comes in either deep black glazed or unglazed raw ceramic, each finish offering different character - the black feels more formal and modern while the unglazed brings earthy, organic texture. At 22.4 inches tall with a 13.8-inch diameter shade, the lamp provides substantial presence on side tables, nightstands, or console tables without overwhelming smaller surfaces. The handmade linen shade diffuses light beautifully, creating soft ambient glow rather than harsh direct illumination, perfect for reading corners, bedside tables, or creating cozy atmosphere in living spaces. What makes the Torso genuinely user-friendly is the brass touch dimmer positioned on top of the shade, offering three brightness levels you adjust with a simple tap - no fumbling for switches or dealing with cords. The milled solid brass details add subtle luxury and weight that make the lamp feel considered and substantial rather than cheaply produced. The 78.7-inch flexible PVC cord gives you positioning freedom without requiring proximity to outlets, and the included 6W LED bulb means you're set up immediately without hunting for compatible bulbs. The tactile linen shade invites touch in a way smooth glass or metal wouldn't, reinforcing that handmade, homey quality Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen intentionally designed. The contrast between rough ceramic base and airy linen shade creates visual interest through material juxtaposition while maintaining an understated, sculptural expression that works across different interior styles from Scandinavian minimalism to more traditional settings. Audo Copenhagen collaborated with Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen on the Torso lamp as part of their commitment to working with designers who bridge art and design through honest, logical, and sculptural objects. Founded in 2016 by Mads Sætter-Lassen and Emil Krøyer, the studio brings strong cultural understanding and Danish design heritage to their work, creating pieces that feel timeless rather than trendy. Their inspiration from grandmother's homes filled with objects shaped by human hands translates into lighting that feels personal and warm rather than cold or industrial. The Torso lamp reflects Audo Copenhagen's "soft minimalism" philosophy through its gentle curves, natural materials, and subdued presence that enhances spaces without demanding attention. The handmade linen shade and carefully crafted ceramic base demonstrate the kind of material quality and craftsmanship Audo Copenhagen prioritizes, ensuring pieces age gracefully and remain relevant through changing design trends.
