The Toronto Tornados played in the Continental Basketball Association from 1983 - 1985. Their first season was not the greatest as they came in last in their division with a 16-28 record. With new head coach Gerald Oliver coming on board in the second season, the Tornados began to win games and finished 26-22. Unfortunately for them, fans were not that interested and attendance dipped below 1,000 per game at Varsity Arena. The Tornados made the playoffs in 1985 but their owner made a peculiar move by firing head coach Oliver days before their first round playoff series against the Albany Patroons (who were then coached by Phil Jackson). The Tornadoes ended up losing to the Patroons and were moved to Florida in 1985, renaming themselves to Pensacola Tornados. This would make a unique gift for the basketball fan in your life or a neat find for yourself of a vintage basketball team from Canada. Free standard shipping, no minimum.
