TOPS El Machete .230X

When choked undergrowth turns a trail into a wall of green briars, standard hardware-store machetes flex, dull out, and chew your hands raw. Flimsy stamped sheet metal bends on saplings, forcing dozens of repeated chops that sap your energy before you ever pitch camp. To push deeper into dense wilderness, you need forward momentum and a grip that never gives up.   TOPS built the El Machete .230X to solve that exact frustration. Born from the original .230 pattern, this rugged workhorse delivers the long reach and crushing impact needed to conquer brush with less physical effort than shorter or flimsier machetes. Measuring 22.5 inches overall from thick 1095 high carbon steel, it carries clean forward balance that lets gravity and blade speed do the heavy lifting while sparing your wrists.   Its performance comes from these key design elements:   Long-Reach Blade: The 15.75-inch cutting edge generates massive tip velocity, clearing thick brush with fewer swings to reduce arm fatigue. Contoured Canvas Micarta Handle: Matches the full-length tang precisely to prevent hot spots, blisters, and shock transfer during sustained chopping. Durable Black Traction Finish: Shields the high carbon steel from moisture, sap, and swamp environments to stop rust cold. Full-Tang 1095 Construction: Delivers heavy-duty backbone strength through dense wood without bending or rattling loose in the hand. Every inch of this tool is made in the USA for explorers, bushcrafters, and survivors who demand total dependability miles from the trailhead. It bites deep, clears fast, and stands ready when the terrain fights back.   Please Note: Keep the edge touched up with a field hone, clean sap and debris after clearing, and apply a light coat of oil to the exposed edge to maintain carbon steel performance.
