Powertex Medium

Powertex Medium is a liquid textile hardener that we are offering in a 500g bottle. It's a useful tool in many artist's tool box. For needle felting, I am just beginning to discover and explore the potential uses. So far I have used it to stiffen bird's legs and beaks, create wet felted eggs, makes quills on feathers, and harden horse hooves and facial features. Powertex is an environmentally friendly highly versatile water based medium that makes most porous surfaces hard and weather resistant. It is a hardener for all absorbent natural materials such as textiles, paper, cardboard, leather, plush, and fiberglass. Powertex adheres to all materials except plastic. It is recommended that statues or objects for outdoor use are protected with a water-resistant varnish once they are completely hardened after 2 to 3 weeks. This one-step water-based creme gives sculptors, dollmakers, mixed media artists, painters, interior and exterior designers, theatre set crews, quilters and fabric artists a serious new medium to expand their scope of work, either indoors or outside.
