Tone Forest Strings Companion: Viola

Planting a Seed Through Song The Tone Forest Strings Companion series invites young musicians into the world of string instruments through the warmth and beauty of song. Created by educator and violinist Rachel Lambdin, each book is a joyful introduction to music-making that blends artistry, pedagogy, and imagination. Illustrator Melanie Linder brings every page to life with full-color artwork that helps children feel the meaning and emotion within each piece of music. Designed in the spirit of Waldorf education, the Tone Forest books are more than music collections—they are companions for a child’s musical journey. Students begin by singing and moving with the songs long before they pick up their instruments, allowing them to approach playing with familiarity, confidence, and joy. Each book features:     •    Seasonal and multicultural songs that connect music to nature, culture, and classroom life.     •    Beautiful full-color illustrations to inspire and deepen artistic engagement.     •    Spiral binding for easy use in lessons, practice, and ensembles.     •    Progressive skill development, with each piece gently building on the last.     •    Adaptable arrangements for solo, group, or ensemble learning. The Tone Forest series supports violin, viola, and cello, and is easily adaptable to any classroom or private studio. From simple melodies to multi-part rounds and harmonies, the music grows with the student, fostering both independence and collaboration. When a child plays a melody they once sang, something magical happens—their voice finds a new home in the strings. ISBN: 979-8-9995592-1-0 Paperback Color
