Tokens - Obsidian

Part of Artscape’s Artist Collaboration Series, Tokens is a rhythmic repeat of irregular forms that feel like a forgotten but familiar language. Created by Portland artist Ilse Coffman, this piece draws from her background in painting, collage, and printmaking, blending simple shapes with layered textures inked, embossed, or hand-cut. A quiet nod to ancient mark-making, Tokens brings warmth, movement, and curiosity to the wall. It pairs beautifully with natural textiles and layered interiors, or stands alone as a meditative moment in a minimalist space.
