TOF.1

Introducing the TOF.1 Rangefinder for Teradek RT. This small, lightweight infrared (IR) rangefinder provides constant distance measurements between objects and a camera’s focal plane. Connect your TOF.1 with the MDR.X Lens Control Receiver to provide distance readouts on CTRL.5, CTRL.1, and CTRL.3 wireless handheld controllers. With a sensor refresh rate of 60 times per second, precision autofocus can be activated on your handheld wireless controller with a simple On/Off toggle button for quick access to automated lens adjustments. Powered by Teradek RT Wireless FIZ System Power + Control with MDR.X Lens Control Receiver Single 4-pin to 4-pin Control Cable (Teradek RT Motor Cable) Real-Time Distance Display on CTRL.5, CTRL.1, CTRL.3, and SmallHD monitors Control and power for TOF.1 are provided by MDR.X and require only a single Control Cable—the same as Teradek RT Lens Motors. Access configuration tools within the MDR.X menu to accurately calibrate TOF.1. MDR.X radio control with CTRL.5, CTRL.1, and CTRL.3 handheld wireless controllers will also communicate TOF.1 distance readouts. Hyper-Accurate IR Sensor Up to 80ft Range (25.4m) Detects subjects within a 3° Field of View LED infrared beams measure the distance of subjects within a 3 degree field of view of TOF.1’s proximity sensor, at a direct line-of-sight range of up to 80ft. The overall radius of the sensor’s field of view will narrow or widen as a subject moves toward/away from the camera, allowing a long range of focal detection from macro close-ups to farther distances. Responsive Autofocus Automatic adjustment of Lens Motor Refresh Rate: 60x per second Proprietary Motor Smoothing Code Autofocus can be enabled by programming any User Button on CTRL.1 or CTRL.3. Identify and set a focal point and the lens motor will adjust accordingly. TOF.1 refreshes a subject’s distance measurement 60 times a second, with instantaneous adjustments to focal length by the lens motor--faster than the human eye can understand movement. A proprietary smoothing algorithm prevents excessive jitter within the lens motor, so back-and-forth adjustments are blended together with near imperceptibility. Customizable SmallHD RT Overlays Compatible with all SmallHD Monitors running PageOS 4 or later Communication via interface cable with CTRL.1, CTRL.3, CTRL.5 User-customizable distance overlay SmallHD’s powerful PageOS software features lens data overlays that display critical follow focus information. Connect any compatible SmallHD monitor with CTRL.5, CTRL.1 or CTRL.3 and activate the RT Overlay option to view TOF.1’s numerical distance readout on-screen. The rangefinder information can be adjusted in size, so Camera Assistants can compare lens position and adjust focus with their wireless controller accordingly. For a totally wireless workflow, pair SmallHD monitors with Teradek Bolt wireless video receivers. Incredibly Small & Lightweight ¼”-20 Mounting Point for simple camera attachment 58mm x 58mm x 34 mm (2.3in x 2.3in x 1.3in) 125g (4.5oz) You won’t notice it’s mounted to your camera. Detachable Laser Sight A detachable laser sight (included) can be mounted to the top of TOF via clip-on NATO rail. The activated red laser beam identifies TOF.1’s field of view, which allows focus pullers to locate their focal point before hitting record.
