Trance Titanium KILO Cube (Museum Cube #3)

Raised $31,589 on Kickstarter A museum-quality example of pure titanium metal In 2018, we introduced a solid tungsten cube - the densest engineering metal. Several months ago, we brought the least dense engineering metal: Magnesium. Now, we are back with the strongest metal: Titanium.  Why do I need a Titanium Cube? What’s the absolute strongest thing you can imagine? Do you ever need that spark of inspiration? A solid cube of pure Titanium, the strongest element in the universe by density is sure to amaze, enlighten and spark wonder in young and old alike.  Read on and I’ll tell you more about how a titanium object sparked a change in my life. This is the 3rd in our planned series of KILO presentation cubes that come with a museum display base. It's the ultimate desktop display for the metal junkie! The Titanium KILO comes with its own museum base (included).  What Makes Titanium Special? The most biocompatible and safe metal for the human body The only element that your body fully accepts - even bone will grow around it Named after Titans of Greek mythology because of its immense strength  The highest strength-to-density ratio of any metallic element Shockingly rigid and lightweight, less than half the density of steel  Excellent resistance to corrosion, nearly equivalent to platinum Non-magnetic - won't attract metallic filings from other tools  How was it made? We used a precision machining process to get a cube. A large black of titanium was carefully worked using a CNC. Each cube was ground by hand for a perfect brushed finish. This results in the most perfect finish you can imagine. Here is a video of the process: A large block of solid Titanium Machining with precision. Specifications Material: 99.95% Titanium Size: 6.06 * 6.06 * 6.06cm Density: 4.51g/cm3 Weight: 1000g Our KILO Titanium Cube is 1 kilogram of solid titanium metal. Each cube comes with a museum base. We are including our Museum base FREE with any cube pledge! Solid Acrylic base Brass nameplate Elemental info Perfect for display Museum quality Who is Trance Metals Hi, I’m Rudy Marsh. As a child, I was fascinated with titanium. I remember reading about how the USA didn’t have enough titanium to make the SR-71 spy plane and had to secretly buy some on the open market. That lifted Titanium into the mythical, ultra-rare status for me. I was what you might call a below-average student in high school, but I can remember one pivotal moment. It was one of those moments that you don’t realize were important until years later. My physics teacher passed around an earring made from titanium for us each to briefly handle. It was my first experience actually holding this mythical metal. My brain had a hard time processing the thin, spiral design that was as strong as steel but felt as light as plastic. It didn’t feel real. From that point on, I was in love with the sciences and ended up with a physics degree a few years later. Inspired by the birth of my son, I started Esington and trance metals to reconnect with my love for pure metal. This solid kilogram Titanium cube would have totally blown my mind as a child. My hope is that this Kilogram cube of solid titanium will inspire you and those around you and just maybe end up being the spark that could change the course of a young person’s mind, just like it did mine. Trance Success We have raised over $1.2 million here on Kickstarter! In 2018, we launched the KILO Tungsten cube and raised $487,241. Later that year we raised $502,998 for our polished Copper sphere. We also made the most perfect solid Silicon sphere you can buy with a mirror finish. Trance metals have since sold thousands of solid metal cubes and spheres to people around the world and gained a reputation for being the highest quality solid metal products.
