The Battle of Tinian was fought on the island of Tinian in the Marianas Islands from 24 July to 1 August. Tinian would become a very active airfield to support aerial bombings across the Pacific. Both atomic bombing missions originated on Tinian. This map is of multiple maps combined to show the entire progress of the battle.
