Kalmia latifolia 'Tiddlywinks' Don't let the silly name fool you--Tiddlywinks Mountain Laurel may be small, but it packs a punch in the shade garden. Maturing to about 3 feet tall and wide, Tiddlywinks is the perfect size for a small garden border or container. In late spring, bright pink flower buds form, followed by soft pink blooms. An excellent evergreen addition to your shade garden. Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Mountain Laurel as they prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
