padding-top: 30px; } The magical part starts around halfway into this journey and evolves into the most beautiful vintage barbershop scent I’ve smelled with a narcotic lavender and Tibetan musk fusion. I enjoy the raw musky opening too. Highly recommend this classic —Goran P / Sweden Until about a week ago I knew nothing about the brand of Ensar Oud. All I knew was that I saw tiny 2gm vials being sold for hundreds of £ and In all honestly I thought it was daft. I kindly got sent a small sample to try of Tibetan Musk and Eo1 Sultani by my bro Josh Samuel. I knew the brand was known for using “Real Musk & Oud” but every single other house on the planet says that too. I have fragrances with “oud” in so thought I knew what to expect and I braced myself, pretty much thinking I wasn’t going to like it. I tried Tibetan Musk first, sprayed it on, and before I even had chance to raise my hand… “Woahhh…what the is that!?” It was so dense, thick, rich and full throttled – I was stunned. I’d never smelled anything like it before. Its very intense in the beginning, but literally after 5 minutes the animalic settles down to a beautiful warm thick muskiness and the vibrance of the lavender and Smokey almost sweet notes of the frankincense come through and its just glorious. I would class this as a fougere on steroids with a sucker punch of musk and oud. Trust me, you have never experience true musk or oud and the power it has until you try something like this, its unlike anything you’ll experience in perfumery. After enjoying it all day, later that night I started reading into the brand and what Ensar Oud stands for and reading the stories behind each of his creations and how he sources his materials, I’ve found it fascinating. Tibetan Musk is a masterpiece and leagues above any niche perfume I’ve ever tried, so I had to get a bottle. It arrived today and I couldn’t be happier. I thought I couldn’t be surprised anymore in this hobby, there are obviously incredible creations out there that I haven’t tried but I thought I’d smelled all the notes there were in perfumery and nothing would surprise me anymore. This has reminded how much I love this hobby and how much enjoyment I get from it. A beautiful creation and I look forward to getting my nose around others from the house. PS..Eo1 Sultani is also excellent and ill be getting a bottle of that too! —Thomas Moore / UK Stunning creamy-ambery warm spicy cozy musk, my favorite from the series. —Florent F / USA …really pack a punch… lavender musky creamy truffle like… a very masculine fougere… —Edward L / Malaysia Tibetan Musk: Assessment of an olfactory bliss TM has been in my possession for just over a week now. Eight days of fragrant contemplation. God knows how long I have been waiting in excruciating agony to finally be able to smell this raw beauty, but after I did, it paid me back in retroactive dividends. What follows is a personal feeling of mine, a story, a sentiment so profound and unconsciously ingrained that you may not totally understand it, at least not at first read. However, it moved me so much that I believe it is worth the share, and if you catch even a single glimpse of my fantasy, my subjectivity has a deeper meaning. Upon first sniff, the perfume, in all its complexity and scope, commands attention…respect. It is bigger than it seems, yet the beast hides in the background. Wafts of animalic lavender paired with blackcurrant on a silk bed of sweet musk, creamy sandalwood, ambergris, oakmoss, vanilla and resins. I can decipher something vegetal, something moist like a mix of vetiver, fresh jasmine, along with some violet and blue lotus. That’s at first glance, and even if this note breakdown may seem thought out, it probably isn’t as I’m not sure I fully understand this composition yet. Art doesn’t require to be understood, neither does it require to be appreciated. That’s the beauty of abstraction, the value of an artist’s instinct, and I’m confortable with this duality. Perfume is art that transcends time and space along the same axis, as long past memories unfold with each additional molecule you encounter. Perfume is what connects the arrow of time, and what connects us to its premise. Tibetan Musk is a work I had to uncover, layer upon layer, to finally reach its true purpose – Its soul. It is so smooth, so masterfully blended, that I thought I would never be able to reach its core, like a well kept tomb hidden in the Valley of the Kings that never saw daylight. While sniffing Tibetan Musk, a vivid scene came to mind. To this day, it is the best way I can describe my sentiment towards this perfume. It was Patrick Süskind’s masterpiece “Perfume : The Story of a Murderer”. Let me be clear here. The main protagonist is a heartless sociopath that has no humanity nor notion of love, and the narrative is bloody troubling. My ultimate realization was beyond the obvious and I assure you I completely discard the dark details. Let’s jump to one of the latest scenes, when Jean-Baptiste Grenouille stands in the middle of a crowd, on a Grasse square, the technical moment of his execution, hanging a single tissue sprayed by its own perfume at the tip of his fingers. The crowd is in total admiration over the beauty of the scent, which even from afar, exudes such a timeless elegance and is so primal that the deepest parts of their brains seem to get back to life. The scent is so captivating, so intoxicating, that unadulterated desire saturates the hearts, leading to what I consider an artistic scene of untamed freedom giving light to the purification of passions (you know what I mean if you have watched the movie). The scent is Tibetan Musk, in its full glory. To me, this scent is like a Renaissance painting transposed into olfactory motion. It reaches our most primal roots, but yet has a meaning so fundamentally profound that beauty naturally emerges from within. In the book, the exceptional perfume is said to be made of only 13 notes (4 top notes, 4 heart notes, 4 base notes and 1 mystery note, giving the fragrance its distinctive character). In Tibetan Musk, the Musk is this last note, the final touch that gives the fragrance its personality. The fragrance also feels so simple somehow, like it was made of only 13 of the most beautiful ingredients in the world, but all of which were carefully selected and measured to perfection. In the book, the 13th note represents the birth of desire, and I can sense it in this perfume. If Tibetan Musk was the only perfume that could feed my imagination like that while making me wonder about the definition of beauty, than I want a backup bottle to the expense of my own wisdom. 10/10…what a wonderful work Ensar Oud. My favorite perfume of yours thus far. To all —Charles P / Canada Tiben Musk opens with a bright, bold, in-your face, piercing citrus and spiciness that I have not yet experienced in any other Ensar compositions. It reminds me of the way fresh ginger tastes and feels in the mouth. There’s a lavender in the opening, but more of a bright, fresh lavender, that further enhances the bright and powerful sparkling opening. It is not a creamy powdery lavender. The musk, while present immediately upon spraying, stays in the background for the first few minutes as the opening top notes duke it out for your attention. But Every minute that passes, the Tibetan musk creeps closer and closer to the foreground, until you are engorged in a bright, seductive animalic musk. Tibetan musk is really intriguing, it is anima
