Aim for soil temperatures between 55–60°F for best germination results. Expect seedlings to emerge within 14–28 days. Plant seedlings in clumps for the best growth habit. Choose a well-drained, light, dry, and slightly alkaline spot — thyme doesn't like wet feet. Note: thyme has a fine root system, so once planted, it prefers to stay put rather than be transplanted. 📋 Product Specifications Botanical Name: Thymus vulgaris Type: Hardy perennial (Zone 4+) or annual Days to Harvest: 60–90 days Germination: 14–28 days at 55–60°F Pollination: Open-pollinated Soil Preference: Well-drained, light, dry, alkaline Sowing Method: Direct sow Vendor: Seattle Seed Company Collections: Shop Local, Washington, Best Sellers, Under $20 🛒 Add Thyme seeds to your cart today and start growing a herb that works as hard in the kitchen as it does in the garden.
