Thuja Green Giant Arborvitae

Green Giant Arborvitae (Thuja standishii x plicata ‘Green Giant’) is a fast-growing, evergreen conifer prized for its towering height, lush green foliage, and natural pyramidal shape. Growing up to 3 feet per year, this hardy hybrid can reach heights of 40 to 60 feet with a spread of 12 to 18 feet at maturity, making it an ideal choice for creating quick, dense privacy screens and windbreaks. Its rich, scale-like foliage maintains a vibrant green color year-round, providing four-season interest and reliable coverage in both residential and commercial landscapes. Highly adaptable and low-maintenance, Green Giant Arborvitae thrives in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide range of soil types, including clay and sandy soils, as long as drainage is adequate. It is resistant to common arborvitae pests and diseases, and it handles drought, humidity, and cold weather with ease once established. Unlike other privacy trees, it doesn’t require frequent pruning, though it can be trimmed to maintain a desired size or shape. Its tolerance to deer browsing and strong, uniform growth habit make it a top pick for natural hedges, living fences, or standalone specimens in expansive landscapes. Whether you're looking to block an unsightly view, create a wind-resistant boundary, or add structure and elegance to your landscape, Green Giant Arborvitae delivers both beauty and performance. It pairs well with flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and perennials to soften its bold presence, or it can stand alone as a stately evergreen backdrop. For gardeners and property owners seeking fast, effective, and enduring landscape solutions, Green Giant is the go-to choice for privacy, screening, and year-round greenery. Thuja Green Giant is recognized as an Elite Plant by the US National Arboretum and has been granted the prestigious gold medal by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
