Suzani Throw Pillow

Cut from a late 19th century Suzani - Uzbekistan. I found this Suzani on a sourcing trip through Central Asia. It was hand-embroidered in Uzbekistan, likely made by a woman, or a group of women, in preparation for a wedding. The floral patterns, the sunburst shapes—they’re bold, but not flashy. Stitched onto handwoven cotton, the threadwork shows age in the best way. Some areas are worn thin, others repaired with care. It’s lived a life. Passed through hands. Hung in a home.
