Through a Dark Valley

The Timothy House Chronicles: Book Two Through a Dark Valley, Book Two in The Timothy House Chronicles, continues the story of Abbie Richardson and Keith Haliday—two individuals who have suffered incredible losses that could have destroyed their lives. Instead, moving forward on shaky legs of faith, they discover that hope can spring anew despite deep sorrow and heartache. Taking a leap of faith, Abbie has accepted a new job as a member of the Timothy House faculty. One primary determiner was Keith’s position with the school. Both are now walking a new path of finding renewed trust in God and navigating a developing romance with each other. Abbie’s reacquaintance with student Chloe Minton will lead her into a race for time to save the girl from a dangerous situation. Keith’s encounter with wayward youth DeSean Matthews will embroil him in a life-saving mission of his own. Abbie and Keith are called upon to stand in the gap when dark forces threaten the school’s peace and stability and the town of Robbinsonville. This story is a testimony that the light of God’s presence can illuminate even the darkest valleys of life. His love and life-changing power can redeem even the most difficult circumstances. Praise for Sherye S. Green: “Sherye writes about a subject that I’ve witnessed firsthand in my time as Juvenile Drug Court Coordinator. I came across many youths, like DeSean, who were at the wrong place at the wrong time and needed someone to see their potential. I love how Sherye captures his story and shares truth in such a poignant way for Believers to see the power we hold in knowing when to stand for others who genuinely need Christ’s mercy. We should never underestimate the power of a second chance.” Katie L. Trundt, Esq., Former Madison County Juvenile Drug Court Coordinator, Birmingham, Alabama “Once again, Sherye Green has written a book that is so easy to read. After reading it, you feel you know each character personally! In getting to know these characters and their situations, it just reminds me that God, in His infinite wisdom, takes care of each of us! As a former Youth Court Counselor, I was particularly interested in reading about godly people stepping up to assist children in need. What a blessing!!!! Even though we have to go through dark valleys in our lives, God often allows us to go through them so we will appreciate the mountaintops!” Kathy Mumbower, Former Youth Court Counselor, Clinton, Mississippi  “As a Youth Court Judge, I see many young people traumatized by the very people who should shower them with unconditional love. The children in this story paint a very familiar story that had me wishing the characters were in my courtroom so that I could help change the trajectory of their lives. Many stories of foster care are loving and heroic. Unfortunately, others only add to the tragedy of abuse and neglect. Sherye has found a way to bring the story of Chloe and DeSean to life in a way that leaves the reader rooting for the brokenhearted and seeking justice for those who would mistreat them. I highly recommend Through a Dark Valley to anyone wanting a glimpse into the juvenile justice world where abuse, abandonment, and delinquency meet hope.”  The Honorable Staci O’Neal, Youth Court Judge, Madison, Mississippi by  Sherye S.
