3-Faced Phurba (Copper, 5")

Phurbas (or kilas in Sanskrit) are powerful ritual instruments in Tantric or Vajrayana Buddhism, representing the enlightened wrath of all Buddhas. Traditionally, phurbas were used in non-Buddhist sacrificial rites, but in the Tantric Buddhist context, they symbolize the force that "cuts through aggression" and liberates sentient beings from afflictive emotions. The Phurba, especially the cosmic version wielded by Vajrakilaya, is an essential tool in clearing obstacles and negative influences.
