Thorens DM208 – Cork Mat

DM208 Cork Mat The Thorens Platter Mat DM208 is an antistatic turntable pad made of fine granules (cork). It suppresses the resonances of vinyl records, which are typical for turntables, and forms a quiet base. The DM208 is crafted from meticulously selected fine cork granules. Cork’s unique cellular structure—composed of millions of microscopic air-filled cells—gives it remarkable vibration absorption properties. This mat effectively suppresses the typical mechanical resonances generated by the turntable platter and the vinyl record during playback. By absorbing these parasitic vibrations without dampening the musical nuances, the DM208 provides a profoundly quiet foundation, often resulting in tighter, more defined bass lines and improved dynamic attack.
