The background of this quilt is pieced from 6" finished squares. Each thistle block is 24" square finished. Be careful to choose background fabrics that complement the applique and that do not compete with it. We chose a wide variety of yellow/golds that were of similar value and scale for our sunny background. A color image of the whole 72" x 72" quilt A full-size black and white pattern for each of the 24" x 24" blocks. Yardage and cutting instructions for the entire quilt. General applique instruction.
