ABOUT THE ARTISANS This jewelry was handmade by women in a fair trade cooperative in India who have HIV/AIDS. They use the "gypset style," which combines the ancient crafts of bead weaving and macrame with a modern aesthetic. Each piece has a free-form bohemian feel. The women receive full time employment and earn living wages so they can support their families and lead dignified lives.
