Thin Clouds and Light Breeze

A collection of contemporary artist Cheng Zhou's dramatically composed, expressively painted landscapes. This full-color, hardcover volume includes over 200 images and is both an excellent illustrative reference and inspiration for landscape painting. His paintings depict many of the components that might appear in a landscape painting- sky [both day and night], mist, mountains, fields, rocks, trees, waterfalls, lakes, sea, man-made structures, people. Although many of the paintings have panoramic, expansive views, shown also are many image details from the paintings, in close-up, for ease in studying the specifics of the basic art elements and principles, such as line, texture, color, composition, rhythm, etc. All of the four seasons are represented. Text is in Chinese, with painting titles in Chinese/English.
